The Virtual Library@University of Aberdeen

The aim of this space is to make it easier for you to find and access the wealth of electronic resources available to you as a member of the University of Aberdeen. It contains a collection of links and instructions, guides and worksheets produced by staff in Library, Special Collections and Museums. The 'virtual library' is not a separate collection - it is a term used to describe all the resources in electronic format (including e-journals and e-books) supplied by the library. Most of them are fully integrated into our library systems, including Primo and the library catalogue.

What you must do before you start is set up your own personal computer to access databases that we pay for, so that you can read journal articles and e-books in full text. You may be denied access to full text materials on some databases unless you have saved the University's proxy server address in your computer's web browser. For further information see the first section on off campus access on this wiki.

You are not required to open an account or send a request to 'join the workspace' to use this wiki,

Simply link through to relevant pages from the Contents section below, and use the links supplied on the pages to access information and e-resources. A Worksheets folder containing documents that help you use our electronic databases is also available from the Pages & Files section on this wiki, via a tab that is located at the top of every page.
